The Lighting Buyer’s Technical Reference Guide

We talk a lot about the benefits of LED lighting; it’s an efficient light source that’s advancing at an incredible rate.  More importantly it’s a light source that behaves very differently to old incandescent sources. Understanding the characteristics of LED lighting has become critical to residential lighting design.  We’ve created The Lighting Buyer’s Technical Reference Guide to help people understand the benefits and watch outs associated with this exciting lighting technology.

The Lighting Buyer's Technical Reference GuideThe guide is split into thee sections.  Section 1 is an introduction to LED lighting; what it is and the differences between the dedicated LED fittings and retrofit LED lamps.  Section 2 talks in more detail about the characteristics of LED lighting and what you need to look for in selecting good quality products.  Section 3 provides more detail on how to select and cable the correct combinations of fitting, dimmer, driver and control interface.

The Lighting Buyer’s Technical Reference Guide is exactly that; it’s a guide.  We’ve developed it to help people choose and buy the right combination of products for their project from our new online store which launches this month.  It doesn’t try to be a comprehensive lighting design manual.  We believe lighting design is a blend of science and art and we’ve built our business around delivering that mix in residential projects across the UK and Europe.  However we hope this guide will help people understand what they need to factor into a lighting project using LED lighting.

The Lighting Buyer's Technical Reference GuideWe’ll be keeping the Lighting Buyer’s Technical Reference Guide updated as the technology changes.  You can download the latest edition here.  If you’ve got anything you’d like us to include or expand on in future editions then please get in touch with us here.  If you’d like to subscribe to updates to the guide, then please register for our newsletter here.
